Plum is a deep red-violet that reads almost brown in low evening light and comes alive in the morning. It is reactive-dyed, which bonds the colour to the cotton fibre and keeps it from bleeding; it costs more than the pale shades for that reason.
Two things, plainly. Dark percale shows lint - a cream wool throw will leave fibres on it that you will see. And even reactive dye softens a little over the first year; expect it a touch dustier, never patchy.
